Author and illustrator of many children’s books, the most popular are the
Frog and Toad Series, Mouse Soup, and the book he won a Caldecott Medal for was Fables. He has also won award for other books that he has written and/or illustrated. He not only illustrates he own books, but he also illustrates for others as well. A good example is Sam the Minuteman by Nathaniel Benchley, which was first published in 1969.
